Categorizing Complaints

Daily NHTSA complaints auto-categorized into Early Warning categories. Review, re-tag, annotate, and export.

The issue

NHTSA complaints are a vital data source for feedback, product improvement, and benchmarking, and may be used by NHTSA to initiate investigations. Manufacturers would love to read and categorize new complaints daily to stay ahead of issues.

But NHTSA provides no way to track what was added in the last day (or x days), and no mechanism to categorize complaints for tracking, analysis, and reporting. Building such a system in-house is costly.

The Datrato solution

Datrato sends daily email alerts showing new complaints. Users can view them as printable detailed reports or download the data as CSV for Excel, Access, or any database.

Datrato sifts the text to categorize complaints into NHTSA Early Warning Categories using text-classification techniques. Users can accept the system's categorization or change it, assign phenomena, issues, and notes, and even place a complaint in multiple categories (for example brakes and structure).

Results

Manufacturers can track, analyze, review, and report on new complaints daily, keeping ahead of emerging issues and addressing them proactively.
